Job Description
Accounting, GrantsEmployer seeks candidate to work full-time on our US Government Program/Grants Management contract. Employer offers excellent benefits including: Paid Leave, Insurance, 401K, etc.Position: Accounting Specialist (Grants)Location: Washington DC Metro AreaType of Position: Full-time, Exempt, and SalariedSalary $60K - $65KKey Responsibilities
  • Provide financial and cost analysis and grants administration activities
  • Support fiscal activities, including data entry, research, data analysis, and records management designed to improve processes, create efficiencies, and manage high-profile grants.
  • Analyze data from numerous Web-based systems, specifically eRA software system, develop reports, write analytical summaries of data for executive-level clients, analyze documents, derive key points, and summarize conclusions for official documentation, including creating draft of executive memos and reports using Microsoft Office.
  • Assist with verifying grant files are complete to facilitate financial closeout process, provide support for all grants closeout activities, and participate in and function as a recorder in ongoing collaborative meetings with federal counterparts, and grantees
  • Implementing federal policy and procedures
  • Skills, Knowledge, and Experience Required:A successful candidate should have:
  • A minimum of a BA or BS degree from an accredited university or college
  • Three to Five years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience with financial auditing or audit resolution for federal discretionary grant programs.
  • Background and training in technical writing/or grants management,
  • Experience with eRA system is preferred;
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing;
  • Ability to learn and work with client Web-based databases and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint;
