Job Description

Harvest Preparatory Academy has an immediate opening for a District Accountant.


Required: Bachelor's degree with courses in accounting and a minimum of two years' increasingly responsible experience in computerized accounting requiring considerable knowledge of accounting. Must have knowledge and a minimum of two years’ experience with P&L reports.

  • Strong Excel, Word and database skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Experience with/ knowledge of payroll.
  • Team player and have ability to work independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to interact effectively with all levels throughout organization.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Executive Director may find appropriate and acceptable.
  • Experience:

  • Accounting: 1 year (Preferred)
  • General Ledger: 1 year (Preferred)
  • SUMMARY OF FUNCTION: Provide general accounting functions for all district funds. Provides accounting function for the School District, including but not limited to, analyze, determine need and prepare journal entries to the general ledger and provide data entry and monthly journal entry verification. Prepares and maintains audit schedules as directed. Support and participate in strategic initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.

    Must have or be able to obtain an IVP Finger Print Clearance Card.
