POSITION SUMMARY: With minimum supervision, responsible for any combination of calculating, posting and verifying of accounting data of a complex nature which requires thorough knowledge and understanding of one or more of the following functions: Accounts Receivable, Cost accounting, and Billing. RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities may include some or all of the following: Prepare accounts receivables, journal vouchers, progress billings, operating and financial statements. Post and balance journal entries. Type vouchers, invoices, statements, reports and maintain records. Assist in the preparation of financial reports and operating statements. Review work of accounting clerks and assist when needed. Investigate questionable data and take corrective action when necessary. Analyze and reconcile ledger accounts. Interface with functional departments, management, vendors and customers. Perform other related responsibilities. Job Requirements: Three years Accounting/Accounts Receivable experience or demonstrated ability to perform described responsibilities. Two years college accounting or equivalent professional coursework preferred. Must be willing to work later in the evenings and 1-2 Saturdays per month. Prior computer experience (i.e. knowledge of excel) and data entry required. Ability to accurately input and calculate numbers and operate a 10‐key calculator by touch. Knowledge of basic accounting principles. Accurate typing skills of 35 WPM may be required. Must demonstrate effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work with others and be a participative team player.
