Major Duties Under general supervision, the Administrative Support Assistant provides clerical and general office support to the Research and Graduate Studies office. The incumbent answers phones; schedules meetings; reserves rooms; organizes files; maintains office calendar; maintains office supplies; sorts and distributes mail; is responsible for scanning, faxing, copying; and data entry; covers font desk and assists students and faculty walk-ins; monitors office email account(s) and forwards email to appropriate individual; assist with organizing office events; and performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Equivalent to one (1) year of full-time, general office clerical work that has provided the applicant with the knowledge and abilities listed; two years preferred. Equivalent to full-time college or university education/vocational school training in business or job-related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year for year basis. Alpha/numeric data entry at 45 keystrokes per minute. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Working knowledge of correct English grammar, spelling, and punctuation; and office methods and basic filing systems procedures and practices. Ability and specialized skills to: learn, interpret, and communicate standard university policies and procedures; perform multiple tasks in a busy work environment; identify and resolve routine clerical problems; screen telephone calls, visitors and mail; establish and maintain a cooperative working relationships; read and write a level appropriate to the duties of the position; and operate standard office equipment and software. University experience, good written and oral communication skills, knowledge of data entry and events planning, ability to work in a fast pace environment with attention to detail preferred. Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule The university offers an excellent benefits package. The salary range for this classification is: $2600 - $3717 per month. The anticipated HIRING RANGE is up to $2900 per month, dependent upon qualifications and experience. HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday through Friday.
