Job Description:Leidos is looking for a candidate to join our team at Johnson Space Center (JSC) in Houston, Texas. The candidate will work in the NASA Flight Operations Directorate (FOD) Extra-Vehicular Activities (EVA), Robotics and Crew System Operations Division. The candidate will be assigned to the FOD Extravehicular Activity (EVA) discipline. The candidate will certify as a crew instructor in Extravehicular Mobility Unit (EMU) Systems and/or EVA Tasks area s. The candidate is expected to certify as an EVA Multi-Purpose Support Room (MPSR) flight controller and eventually certify as an EVA Flight Control Room (FCR) flight controller. In this capacity, this candidate will eventually function as the Operations Lead for EVA missions, providing all planning, development and integration. Frequent interactions with diverse organizations require development of close working relationships facilitated by good interpersonal skills. Presentations to NASA technical community and management are required. Participate and contribute to group efforts to streamline and upgrade technical and administrative processes. Bachelor of Science degree in Physics, Mathematics or Engineering (ABET) Preferred position related experience 2-4 years. Candidate must have a technical background and a good understanding of engineering principles. Excellent oral and written communication skills, demonstrated initiative, outstanding organizational skills, and the ability to participate in team environment and to function well under pressure. Must be proficient in Windows and Microsoft applications. Candidate must have a strong past performance record and strong multi-tasking/work prioritization skills. Candidate must successfully receive and maintain security clearance per eligibility requirements. Medical clearance for flight control certification is required. Must be able to pass Air Traffic Controller Physical. Travel (domestic and international), shift work and working on holidays may be required for integrated simulations and flight support.The candidate must have a demonstrated ability to plan, lead, and coordinate a wide range of tasks.
