Associate Software QA Engineer

Job Description
We are looking for an Associate Software QA Engineer to join the Enterprise Business System Development team. This position will test company-wide software solutions, both enterprise and non-enterprise, through the use of systematic testing processes to identify deviations to requirements or expected functionality. Develops, applies, and maintains test and quality standards for company products. Analyzes requirements to develop test scenarios. Develops, modifies, and executes software test plans and manual and automated scripts for testing. Identifies, obtains, and validates data for use during testing. Maintains all administration required for the use of identified tools used for testing. Maintains documentation of test results in established libraries to report on the quality of the software under test. Maintains documentation of defects identified to assist triage and development teams in determining root cause.

Job Description:

  • Follow and maintain test automation best practices, stay up to date with the latest test automation technology.
  • Partner with other teams to create integrated automated tests between systems.
  • Technical depth to develop and execute automated test scripts that cover a vast collection of scenarios such as functional, interface, stress, performance, security, integration, usability, system, acceptance, regression, smoke, and end-to-end endurance validation.
  • Ample experience training, reviewing, and providing feedback on automated test scripts to junior contributors.
  • Experience with automation for software deployed in a cloud environment utilizing cloud service platforms such as AWS.
  • Proven experience ensuring automation scripts follow a sustainable, consistent, scalable, and expandable architecture.
  • Experience translating Acceptance Criteria, and design specifications into robust test cases that ensure requirements and objectives are met. Ability to interpret application code to validate logic and data flow.
  • Develop and maintain robust test suites in our test management system.
  • Work closely with the environment analyst to communicate test environment needs and timelines.
  • Assist in tuning code for existing systems and advise with planning of future systems.
  • Work closely with development, fellow testers, product owners, business partners, and infrastructure teams to ensure that all updates and changes made are high quality.
  • Work with fellow automation engineers to conduct peer code reviews.
  • Actively participate in the decision making and prioritization process for changes to systems.
  • Understand needs and wants of the business partners - how they do their work and what they need.
  • Provide test documentation and training as needed. Contribute and participate in knowledge transfer sessions.
  • Consistently follow team processes, and actively participate in process improvements.
  • Assist in coaching others. Participate in peer-to-peer mentorship.
  • Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of software development toolsets and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with enterprise-oriented software design and development methodologies.
  • Academic understanding or general familiarity with common testing, verification, and validation techniques.
  • Familiar with Object Oriented Design and Development.
  • Familiar with application development, deployment, and quality testing in either Linux or Microsoft environments.
  • Familiar with Cloud (SaaS) application testing.
  • Familiar with Application Programming Interface (API) testing.
  • Familiar with standard software testing and debugging techniques.
  • Familiar with standard software testing tools.
  • Gains familiarity with maintaining the integrity of team members' PII data.
  • Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, and listening.
  • Understands necessity of tailoring communication to meet audience needs.
  • Builds solid working relationships with fellow Team Members, allied technical Team Members, and with customers / clients.
  • Works on routine assignments using independent judgment to address and resolve anticipated / recurring issues.
  • Follows standard procedures.
  • Receives guidance and direction on new or one-off assignments.
  • Recognizes when standard processes and procedures require modification or adaptation.
  • Able to work effectively with Team Members and other stakeholders, internally and externally.
  • Demonstrates a customer-focused orientation and mindset.
  • Education & Experience:

  • BA/BS degree 0-2 years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
