Bachelor s-level Research Analyst - Aging, Disability and Long-Term Care Program

Job Description
RTI International has one opening for an Entry-level Research Analyst in the Aging, Disability and Long-Term Care program to assist in analyses of government health policies, particularly Medicare and Medicaid. Research Analysts function as an integral part of a team providing analytic and project coordination, support to senior staff while developing an in-depth understanding of critical health policy issues. The position requires excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work successfully in multidisciplinary teams. Analysts will also become proficient with the various analytical tools used in health services research and consulting. This position will be located in Waltham, MA or Research Triangle Park, NC.Responsibilities will vary but may include the following:
  • Conduct literature reviews and environmental scans, and synthesize findings
  • Assist with a wide variety of qualitative and quantitative research activities
  • Contribute to and/or prepare portions of technical memoranda, reports and presentations
  • Coordinate qualitative and quantitative research activities including key informant and stakeholder interviews, technical expert panels, and data collection pilot studies
  • Assist with data analysis and writing analytic reports
  • Write project reports and other project communications of limited technical complexity
  • Manage correspondence and project communications and assist with other project management responsibilities including scheduling, preparing meeting agendas, and recording meeting minutes
  • Gather background information to support proposal efforts and write proposal sections of limited technical complexity
  • Gain exposure to health care and aging policy and health services research methods by attending internal RTI-sponsored presentations and learning seminars and job-related local workshops
  • Search and review published and web-based information sources
  • Review and proof own work for accuracy and completeness
  • Minimum Qualifications:
  • BA/BS (May 2019 graduates will be considered) in Public Health, Economics, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field
  • Strong academic record: must have a minimum GPA of 3.3 or higher to be considered
  • Quantitative and/or qualitative research experience or coursework
  • A demonstrated interest in aging, health services, or health policy research
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Capable of traveling up to 10% domestically
  • To qualify, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and should not require sponsorship for employment visa status, now or in the future.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with R, SAS or Stata ideal but not required
