Box Truck Driver

Job Description

United Cartage is currently looking for motivated individuals who can operate a 24/26ft box truck, capable of lifting up to 100 pounds, has a valid driver s license and DOT physical, clean background and is able to pass a drug test. Driver Responsibilities:

  • Deliver product to customers in a safe and timely manner by way of Box Truck.
  • Arrive for daily shift on time.
  • Maintain a satisfactory driving record and adhere to company guidelines regarding quality assurance and safety.
  • Maintain truck cleanliness and meet company standards for daily truck maintenance.
  • Make any /all deliveries assigned by supervisor, including but not limited to route deliveries and late runs/pickups
  • Maintain open communication with Office Administrator/Dispatcher
  • Maintain accurate logs as required by DOT
  • Other duties as identified.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 24 months of Non-CDL Commercial driving experience
  • A driving record with no moving violations
  • Ability to operate a commercial vehicle, handcart, hand jack, and other equipment as required
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Must hold necessary licensing requirements and credentials to operate company commercial vehicles, to include DOT physical
  • An understanding of the trucking industry standards
  • An understanding of traffic in the local area
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure

The physical demands identified here are representative of those that must be accomplished by an employee to effectively perform the essential duties of this position:

  • Capable of frequent standing, walking, and sitting
  • Ability to use hands, arm, and finger dexterity
  • Ability to climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Ability to talk and hear
  • Able to frequently lift and/or move up to 100lbs

Salary: $26,000.00 to $32,000.00 /year
