SAP PM, QM, IM and WM – Business Analyst

Position Overview:

As the PM, QM, IM and WM Business Analyst, you’ll be responsible for formulating business process scope and objectives as they relate to the SAP systems. You’ll analyze and evaluate existing and proposed systems and devise or modify processes and procedures for solving business problems and ensure integration of SAP systems with other technologies and systems. You’ll support the existing Plant Maintenance (PM), Quality Management (QM), Inventory Management (IM) and Warehouse Management (WM) systems and processes. This position is responsible for working with ABAP and BI programmers and various technology and business specialists to provide solutions which are consistent with the MIS strategic direction and platform standards. You’ll also work closely on SAP specific projects and tasks, with key business and technical personnel, identifying and implementing automated or manual procedures or configuration changes.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose problems, develop and implement solutions in an SAP environment; further extend the benefits of our SAP environment by effectively understanding relevant business processes so that they can be modeled in internal systems.
  • Perform highly complex and demanding tasks dealing with the analysis, design, development and implementation of solutions serving business processes and functional areas.
  • Provide necessary coordination, facilitating interactive analysis and design sessions with business process owners and functional leaders.
  • Define and document scope and requirements for new configuration and development to meet changing business requirements.
  • Provide support to end users and maintenance of environment in compliance with established service level agreements.
  • Assist project manager in defining, scheduling and budgeting tasks.
  • Provide guidance to the business and functional areas in developing tests, training plans and materials.
  • Complete detailed system design and write functional specs for development; perform configuration changes and/or prepare design specifications for ABAP and BI programmers.
  • Drive improved user productivity through developing and implementing new business process and systems solutions.
  • Proactively contribute to an overall IT strategy via direct experience in tactical projects and specific user requirements.
  • Act as a liaison from the functional areas to IT for continued development of the internal systems, including the continuous monitoring of SAP solutions and business trends to incorporate relevant technology trends within the business and provide technical guidance.
  • Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of Computer Science or Information Systems OR college degree in a related field required.
  • Experience:

  • General IT experience: 6 or more years IT experience, including systems development experience in the design and development of department-wide or enterprise-wide applications.
  • SAP experience: 4 years minimum systems experience required in the SAP modules appropriate for the job-Inventory Management and Warehouse Management.
  • Experience in Extended Warehouse Management along with Quality Management, Plant Maintenance and Global Batch Traceability is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SAP IM/WM/QM/PM/GBT data dictionary and common SAP tables in S4 HANA.
  • Experience with at least two full life cycle implementations each of SAP and experience in a dynamic support environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and configuration experience in the relevant functional area.
  • Experience working with all levels of the organization, both technical and non-technical.
  • Skills and Competencies:

  • Familiarity with S4 HANA architecture and proven knowledge of ABAP, BASIS and database technologies; proven skills in enterprise systems development.
  • Ability to transform business function requirements into technical program specs.
  • Strong conceptual and analytical skills; success in working on high impact cross-functional teams; strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • An analytical approach to problem-solving, coupled with the ability to conceptualize systems.
  • Demonstrated communication and organizational skills.
  • Clear ability and desire to adapt to changing work environments.
  • Proven capability to quickly acquire new technology skills.
  • Thorough understanding of IM/WM/QM/PM/GBT SAP systems.
  • Knowledge of systems and/or business analysis design concepts; demonstrated proficiency in the applied use of systems and process analysis tools; full system life cycle experience, including development lifecycle methodologies.
  • Ability to facilitate interactive design and functional specification sessions.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms; excellent technical writing and system documentation skills.
  • Ability to be a team player, able to work with others in developing and implementing new processes and enabling systems. Able to work with end user groups to define application needs and identify feasible solutions.
