It features 74 guest rooms on six floors including the first hotel to offer loft-like rooms and suites. The hotel has been custom designed by renowned French designer Christian Liaigre.

Description of Position: The Chief Engineer is responsible for managing the day to day operations, overseeing the overall condition of the hotel, restaurant and hotel grounds are maintained to the highest standards. Maintenance of the facility includes the physical building structure, all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, computers, and related equipment as well as the ability to work on budgets, special projects and renovations. This position is a key member of the executive committee.
More specifically the Chief Engineer's responsibilities will include the following:
Planning of daily assignments for engineering staff
Training, supervising and disciplining of the engineering staff
Ensure preventative maintenance is carried out to the hotels 5 star standards on a daily basis
Maintain computerized log system
Coordinate the purchasing of parts and repair procedures. This will include contacting vendors and securing pricing, receiving goods and completing projects
Ensure that department work order procedures are put into place and carried out daily with follow up to other departments
Ensure that all meter utility reader meetings are done on a monthly basis (heat, light, power)
Oversee fire safety system within the hotel, critical valves and shutoffs to assist in emergency procedures
Ability to respond in any hotel emergency or safety situation at any time
Establish and maintain a communication process and ensure good relations between engineering and other departments
Prepare and follow through on all projects as coordinated by General Manager
Ensure that all areas of the hotel are inspected on a regular basis
Prepare purchase orders in accordance with procedures for any purchase
Process payroll for engineering department
Conduct employee evaluations
Annual capital projects
Oversight of outside contractors
Ongoing restoration, renovation and upgrades to hotel and restaurant
Reporting Relationship: The Chief Engineer reports directly to the General Manager.
