Job Description

Responsible for advance level support of software packaging and management of the enterprise endpoint management solution, Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) or equivalent solutions. Additional responsibilities include assisting in the evaluation of new desktop & peripheral technologies and the maintenance of existing enterprise desktop & peripheral technologies including driver maintenance, imaging design, and operating system and application patching.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Primary owner of the endpoint management systems: SCCM and JAMF for the University. Subject Matter Expert on everything inside of the EMS systems including imaging, patching, packaging, compliance. Expected to provide advanced level support to supported systems with other distributed IT professional.
  • Maintain and configure Active Directory Group Policy and Preference management. File Shares: Administer Departmental shares and permissions and design structure and access around security best practices.
  • Enterprise Antivirus/encryption management (McAfee): Design, implement, and maintain deployments of Endpoint Security and Encryption agents on endpoint systems and ensures compliance across the supported enterprise
  • Enterprise Print Management: Design and maintain an enterprise print solution. Assists other IT professionals on print issues related to print servers. Set up and maintain print queues for supported customers.
  • Ensure Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance and Audit Management.
  • Serve on and potentially lead some topical sub committees that reports to IT governance.
  • Maintain and Configure Virtual Desktops to an Academic and Business Environment.
  • Subject Matter Expert on highly complex issues for Desktop and Help Desk Support teams.
  • Minimum Requirements

    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related degree; -OR- an Associate’s degree with two (2) years’ experience ; or four (4) years of basic to intermediate level computer hardware related experience. Possesses working knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures and contributes through support, using established processes, methods, and systems.
