Job Description

The Credit Administration Officer is responsible for ensuring the Bank s loan portfolio meets credit quality and policy requirements of D.L. Evans Bank thus ensuring full compliance with all banking laws, regulations and internal policies and procedures. He or she assures commercial loan documentation is in compliance with loan committee approvals as well as State and Federal regulations. The Credit Administration Officer supervises the real estate appraisal department, the collateral inspection functions and loan analysis. He or she assists commercial lending personnel with questions and discusses loan programs, alternatives, credit criteria, interest rates, etc. The Credit Administration Officer assists with the detection of deterioration of loan quality and may participate in the resolution of special credits.

  • Assists in developing policies, procedures, and standards for commercial lending operations. Conducts periodic reviews of existing policies and procedures to ensure that they are effective and current. Ensures necessary policy changes within 30 days of implementation of new processes, procedures, etc
  • Supervises the activities of the agricultural field representative(s). Provides direction and assigns tasks. Resolves problems and provides assistance as needed
  • Supervises the activities of the loan analyst(s). Provides direction and assigns tasks. Resolves problems and provides assistance as needed
  • Supervises the activities of the appraisal specialist(s), appraisal assistant(s) and other related personnel. Provides direction and assigns tasks. Resolves problems and provides assistance as needed
  • Works closely with loan officers and regional lenders to answer questions and provide support
  • Assists the Chief Credit Officer in developing short and long-term goals for the Commercial Lending Department. Provides suggestions and recommendations
  • Directs appropriate personnel regarding collateral inspections for loan secured by agriculture (crops, cattle, equipment, etc.)
  • Provides leadership to subordinate personnel through effective objective setting, delegation, and communication. Conducts staff meetings and informs personnel of policy and procedural changes. Discusses areas needing improvement and encourage employee suggestions and ideas
  • Ensures the integrity and accuracy of all loan and account documents
  • Prepares reports containing recommended changes to loan policies and procedures for Board of Director approval
  • Oversees the real estate appraisal functions and assures compliance with corresponding regulations. Maintains a working knowledge of related appraisal regulations as they relate to commercial lending
  • Monitors and evaluates work quality, efficiency, and productivity. Ensures that completed work is of the highest quality. Seeks new methods to accomplish assigned tasks
  • Ensures that personnel are well trained, effective, and optimally utilized. Identifies training needs and develops appropriate training programs. Conducts training sessions and cross trains as appropriate
  • Maintains the professional reputation of D.L. Evans Bank
  • Attends assigned training sessions and stays current on new procedures and policies
  • Promotes D.L. Evans Bank at all times
  • Stays informed regarding changes in lending standards and related legal requirements
  • Completes special projects as assigned
  • Serves as a representative for D.L. Evans Bank in the community
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Five to ten years of commercial lending experience including underwriting experience
  • Experience with loans secured by agriculture required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Strong analytical skills required
  • Understanding of financial analysis and loan documentation required
  • Knowledge of Bank commercial lending requirements, regulations, policies and procedures required
