POSITION OVERVIEW

Accepting Applications From: All Persons Interested Division: Maternal and Child HealthSection: Immunizations BureauWorkdays & Hours: Mon – Fri, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM**Subject to change*DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSThe Houston Health Department is currently searching for an energetic and skilled candidate to fill the Customer Service Representative II position to perform the following duties:

  • Provide customer service for Texas Vaccines for Children (TVFC) providers including responding to emails and phone calls in a timely manner.
  • Conduct training to TVFC providers on proper storage and handling of vaccines and how to report compliance using the Electronic Vaccine Inventory (EVI) system.
  • Conduct both announced and unannounced site visits to TVFC providers monthly to assess compliance with TVFC policies and procedures.
  • Keep accurate records and conduct daily, weekly and monthly reporting of activities according to Federal and State grant guidelines.
  • Complete electronic reporting and quality assurance audits.
  • WORKING CONDITIONS

    The position is physically comfortable most of the time with occasional periods of stooping, bending and /or light lifting of materials of up to 10 pounds.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTSBasic knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and simple mathematical functions like percentages, ratios, etc. as might normally be acquired through attainment of a high school diploma or a GED. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSTwo (2) years of administrative or customer service-related experience required. Associate s degree may be substituted for up to two (2) years of experience. LICENSE REQUIREMENTSValid Texas Driver s License and compliance with the City of Houston policy on driving (AP 2-2).

    PREFERENCES

    **Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6.**
