Fullstack Academy is the premier software development school located in New York City and Chicago. In late 2018, New York City selected Fullstack to build a world-class cybersecurity bootcamp, as part of its $100M Cyber NYC initiative. The Fullstack Cyber Bootcamp opened its doors in June 2019 and the curriculum includes advanced red team and blue team training. ABOUT THE ROLE

As an Instructor for Fullstack’s new cybersecurity bootcamp, you will scale your impact as an infosec professional by training the next generation of white hat hackers. You’ll work with a passionate team of instructors and teaching assistants to train a class of highly-motivated students in an immersive, bootcamp environment. You’ll facilitate a dynamic and collaborative classroom community, guiding students through development of stellar projects and PoC s, getting students ready to step immediately into infosec jobs in companies and government service after graduating.

This role is based in New York City and reports directly to the Managing Director of the Fullstack Cyber Bootcamp.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will:

  • Lead instruction on cyber security topics, activity-based learning workshops, and large team competition activities
  • Work with students 1-on-1, in pairs and in groups to support their learning and growth in the program
  • Create a positive, professional and inclusive learning environment and culture for our students
  • Facilitate a dynamic and collaborative classroom community, guiding students through development of stellar projects and Proof of Concepts
  • Help iterate on our curriculum over time based on student achievement data, feedback from students and employer partners, and evolving trends in the industry
  • Keep up to date on relevant trends in the cyber security field, including (for example) attending conferences like DEFCON (to network with other people in the infosec community), building your skills, and participating in CTF challenges
  • QUALIFICATIONS

    You are a great candidate if you have:

  • 2+ years of cybersecurity work experience
  • OSCP certification
  • A passion for the cyber security industry, and for helping others
  • Exceptional and engaging presentation skills - particularly when it comes to complex technical information
  • A desire to work in a fast-moving, high-profile startup environment with a high degree of ownership and independence
  • A passion for the cyber security industry and a desire to be part of growing the careers of a diverse new generation of cyber security professionals
