Description:POSITION SUMMARY** This position can be located in Hartford CT or New York NY preferrably. Would consider top talent in other locations**CVS Health, now one of the top companies in the United States, and Aetna, a business unit of CVS Health, is seeking a Director, Communications (Director) to support Content and Engagement.The Director is a critical leadership position responsible for executive and employee communications, as well as social and digital strategy and thought leadership. Working directly with the VP and Head of Communications for the Aetna Business Unit, the Director will ensure appropriate implementation of communications strategies to drive internal and external business objectives. The Director will also play a key role in shaping and advancing Aetna s digital communications and thought leadership efforts.Your ability to partner with colleagues across both the CVS Health Enterprise and the Aetna Business Unit to ensure alignment of strategies is critical to success in this position. You will utilize your experience with critical thinking across multiple disciplines to provide guidance and ensure strong execution of plans. You will be a senior leader in the Aetna Business Unit, contributing to the efficient and professional operation of the team, in support of the company. Fundamental Components:
  • Drive the execution of an executive and employee communications plans from concept and planning stages to evaluation, ensuring on time completion of deliverables while demonstrating the ability to adjust plans as needed
  • Maintain internal leadership channels such as executive blogs and leadership platforms
  • Manage Aetnas social thought leadership program on LinkedIn and other social media channels
  • Proactively and consistently makes connections and shares new ideas that link to the larger Enterprise strategy
  • Successfully work with Centers of Excellence and other communication colleagues across CVS Health and Aetna to accomplish goals
  • Develop communication strategies using cross-industry best practices, innovative ideas and audience insight
  • Ensure that all communications are error-free, accurate and appropriately approved BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:
  • 12+ years of experience in increasingly responsible communications leadership roles, including experience with internal and external communications
  • Experience in healthcare, consumer services, financial services and/or consulting preferred
  • Experience developing and executing successful communication programs at the enterprise level or for major business organizations.
  • Experience in writing and editing all kinds of communication on short notice and as part of long-term initiatives.
  • Track record of proactively identifying and pursuing relevant opportunities that resulted in increased audience awareness and understanding of the core message(s).
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships, integrate strategies, and connect the dots between messages, timing and activities under other leaders influence.
