The primary function of this job is to direct the Process Engineering Team and actively develop their fundamentals, which may include but not be limited to methods of standardization, workstation design, measurable and ergonomic improvements within the facilities. This position will oversee the Engineers and align them with management while maintaining working knowledge of the sewing industry.


  • Actively participate as a member of the SCLT in order to identify, develop and direct the company’s vision, strategy, and performance goals.
  • Effectively set expectations as a leader by exhibiting professionalism and integrity in all aspects of job performance. This includes the support and encouragement of all leader competencies.
  • Develop the Process Engineering team in fundamentals such as methods standardization, follow up, workstation design, and capacity studies.
  • Monitor the engineering function at each facility.
  • Analyze monthly engineering reports for planning purposes.
  • Act as a liaison between Engineers and Management.
  • Report and communicate engineering process to the Vice President of Manufacturing.
  • Maintain working knowledge of industry related material.
  • Assign and monitor Process Engineering KPIs, measurable, and ergonomic improvements.
  • Deliver prompt and accurate machine requirements as production changes or as needed.
  • Identify, track, and implement cost saving procedures.
  • Direct and manage the timely accuracy of reporting systems such as BOL, BOM, and PDM packages.
  • Lead Process Engineering to develop timely, accurate sample procedures, such as prototypes and salesman samples.
  • Determine equipment and technology upgrades that reflect appropriate current trends.
  • Reaches out to industry/research for benchmarking and best practice identification in manufacturing.
  • Work with Senior Management (Supply Chain, PD, etc.) on production plans, goals, and product improvements.
  • Identify opportunities for our internal manufacturing capabilities to meet or exceed customer expectations for cost, quality, and delivery.
  • Responsible to support Business Units in achieving goals for sample delivery from internal Supply Chain.
  • Supply Chain Lead for FR Business Unit – Single point of contact for SC related issues and action plans, including appropriate two way communication.
  • Report and communicate engineering process to the Vice President of Manufacturing.
  • Required Skills and Experience

  • 10 years in apparel industry required.
  • 5 years of management or supervisory skills required.
  • Six Sigma certification preferred
  • Lean Manufacturing certification preferred.
  • Intermediate computer skills required.
  • GSD certification preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Education

  • Bachelor s Degree Required in Industrial Engineering or Related Field
  • Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree
