The Durham Outreach Program Coordinator will plan, implement, conduct and assess Durham School of Architectural Engineering and Construction (DSAEC) outreach programs designed to increase and retain partnerships and enhance architectural engineering and construction program awareness. The Durham Outreach Program Coordinator is responsible for implementing creative outreach/engagement and partnership strategies and will oversee DSAEC outreach programs, including planning, organizing and implementing events, policies and procedures. This position will provide professional leadership in comprehensive aspects of program development and will be expected to work collaboratively with the Engineering Communications team to develop and implement communications as specifically related to DSAEC outreach efforts/programming, including the development of publications and messaging through social media and other online platforms.

Position develops and implements a DSAEC strategic outreach/engagement plan for programmatic growth. Build and maintain relationships with K-12 district administrators and guidance counselors, community partners, and state and local leaders working in tandem with COE K-12 strategic outreach efforts. Implement and maintain engagement activities, including face-to-face presentations, webinars, professional conference exhibits, partner symposiums, site visits, and other strategic business development activities resulting in an increase in long-term partnerships. Serve as first point of contact for partnership and outreach event inquiries related to DSAEC programs. Track and maintain data on relationships, projects and communications with existing and potential partners. Analyze metrics in order to develop impactful event and program summaries. Establish learning outcomes/goals and coordinate special events associated with DSAEC outreach/engagement activities. Develop and implement yearly calendar of events and activities and support and strengthen programs and existing efforts aimed at increasing underrepresented populations.

Minimum Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or STEM-related field plus 3 years of relevant experience required. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or STEM-related field preferred. Experience in higher education or engineering industry desirable. Knowledge of STEM topics helpful.
