The Center for Public Partnerships and Research (CPPR) seeks two full-time Research Project Coordinators to provide backbone support to existing teams working in public health and social services with diverse populations. Work includes assisting with scheduling, program preparation, implementation, and evaluation and data management for small and large-scale initiatives. CPPR specializes in research and evaluation, data science projects, and social innovation work that supports our mission to optimize the well-being of children, youth, and families. CPPR primarily pursues its mission by assisting partners, including state-level and community based organizations, in their work to secure funding , bring key stakeholders to the table, orchestrate large-scale data efforts, and conduct research, and evaluation. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about impacting social change for good. The people in these positions will promote healthy, happy, thriving communities by supporting multi-disciplinary teams in all aspects of program implementation. The successful applicants should have prior nonprofit experience working with community stakeholders, managing program implementation, working with data, and communicating with internal and external customers. Experience working on issues related to children and families is helpful. These positions will be based in Hays and Wichita, so the people in these positions will need to be strong problem solvers who can communicate effectively, work self-sufficiently, and proactively problem-solve. This position is contingent upon funding.

Job Description

Job Duties: 60% - Project Coordination
  • Provide vision for new and existing projects and ensure that they meet the goals and objectives of the funder in cooperation with state and local partners.
  • Track and coordinate deliverables, work plan, and timelines to ensure completion of work.
  • Manage schedules and scheduling across projects to ensure alignment.
  • Train internal/external staff on data collection, facilitation, and project management tools.
  • Develop participant engagement plan, briefs and educational materials.
  • Develop policies and procedures for program providers.
  • Other duties as assigned by Leadership Team.
  • 20% - Report Preparation and Dissemination
  • Write reports and documentation related to grant projects, including progress reports and summary reports, in conjunction with/response to the funder.
  • Create publications, presentations, and other strategies to disseminate project results to a regional/national audience.
  • Represent CPPR projects and teams at relevant meetings, conferences, and webinars, as needed.
  • Deliver presentations and technical assistance related to the project's activities and findings.
  • Synthesize and convey complex ideas into clear, compelling and varied communications.
  • 20% - Partnership and Proposal Development
  • Provide leadership on CPPR teams to identify new funding opportunities.
  • Mobilize people and resources to forward the mission of CPPR.
  • Promote CPPR's core services via strong relationships with state and national partners.
  • Communicate CPPR mission to potential partners on local, state, and national levels.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities as directed by supervisor.
  • Required Qualifications

    1. Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Welfare, the social sciences or related field and one year of experience in a social service field or in field of study. 2. Excellent written communication skills as demonstrated through application materials. 3. Demonstrated work experience in building collaborations with external constituents based on previous work experience. 4. Knowledge of current issues families face based on education and/or previous work experience.

    Preferred Qualifications

    1. Master's degree in Education, Psychology, Social Welfare, Sociology or related field. 2. Prior experience as a Project Coordinator or Nonprofit Administrator. 3. Knowledge of the University of Kansas, its policies and its procedures. 4. Experience with grant -funded programs in a relevant field. 5. Excellent oral communications skills. 6. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to exercise initiative when necessary and appropriate. 7. One year grant writing and grant preparation experience
