Position Overview We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead Jornaya's software development teams in a remote and distributed environment. You will be accountable for Jornaya's product and technology development. To succeed, you must lead from the front: take an active, hands-on role in the development process, exercise good business judgment, and consistently deliver quality products within agreed upon time frames and budget. You will effectively collaborate with the Product team, to lead the execution and delivery of new products and technology, as well as enhancements to existing products. Duties and Responsibilities Cultivate a highly motivated, productive, and collaborative development teamMaintain technology team culture in a remote (Zoom/Slack) based environment With product management counterparts, effectively plan releases and communicate estimated timelines to stakeholdersMarshal teams to deliver high-quality product releases/updates to production on a frequent and consistent basisThrough best in class development practices/standards and CICD methodology, guide your team to deliver frequent, low-risk releases to productionAdvocate for high architectural standards and the reduction of tech debtFoster opportunities for professional growth among team membersAssess and improve Jornaya's application stack and overall system architecturePromote the discipline of testing while encouraging automation wherever possible Must-Have Qualifications 5+ year track record of successfully building and leading software development and engineering teams.Consistent track record of managing product releases on-time and within budget.Very strong technology chops: especially big data, pyspark, large scale APIs, serverless architecture, automated deployment, and (AWS) cloud development. Communicates effectively with all levels of the organization. Excellent verbal and written skills. Ability to set and communicate clear and measurable goals. Able to grasp and solve complex business issues quickly and creatively.Trustworthy - shows the highest level of integrity, intent, ability and results in all endeavorsAbility to deliver and receive radical candor. Careful listener that connects closely with team members.
