JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective The mechanical engineer position plan and designs product applications and assemble project teams. The position is responsible for organizing highly complex activities for the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of engineering projects.

Essential Functions

  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods.
  • Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
  • Transition products from product development to production.
  • Oversee manufacture of products and process optimization.
  • Interface with customers.
  • Competencies

  • Strong sense of curiosity.
  • Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

    Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

    Physical Demands The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday-Friday 7:30 to 4:00.

    Travel No travel is expected for this position.

    Required Education and Experience

  • B.S. degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Minimum of 1 year of related experience.
  • Additional Eligibility Qualifications None.
