Field Engineer - Entry Level

Job Description
*This position may work remotely; frequent travel is required.The Associate Boiler Evaluation Engineer will assist with inspections and/or engineering duties, including, but not limited to inspection of boilers, auxiliary equipment and various pressure vessels, entering confined spaces, existing boiler openings and working at heights. Essential Responsibilities:
  • Participate as team member on boiler evaluation and Life Extension projects as required.
  • Assist with estimating and defining the scope of work to be performed; conducting the actual inspection, interfacing with client and sub-contractor personnel.
  • Perform life assessment analysis evaluations based on visual observations, experience and data collected at the site.
  • Provide engineering support on proposals and other contracts.
  • Participate in meetings with clients, vendors, subcontractors or other departments.
  • Cross train with Field Engineering & Service in the areas of boilers, pulverizers and environmental equipment.
  • Job Requirements / Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
  • Education: Bachelor s degree in an Engineering discipline.
  • Travel is required, average 50% annually
  • This position requires physical dexterity, inclusive of, but not limited to, crawling extended distances, bending, climbing, lifting average loads (*60 lbs.) The use of small tools or equipment, power or otherwise, may be required.
  • General knowledge of boiler operations.
  • Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, such as heat transfer rates, combustion efficiency, and thermodynamics.
