Job Description

Must hold a Public Trust Clearance

The Junior Financial Analyst to support operations as defined below:

  • Perform financial reports and analysis of data and/or information in legacy, current, and future financial management systems, source documents, and physical files.
  • Compile data and/or information from current, and future financial management systems, source documents, and physical files.
  • Perform trend analysis on budget, cost, or other financial information.
  • Perform variance analysis on budget, cost, or other financial information.
  • Perform financial estimates and forecasts using budgets, cost, or other financial information.
  • Prepare financial reports using budgets, cost, or other financial information.
  • Support work of a financial nature for projects or other DAS initiatives.
  • Reconciles financial discrepancies in Oracle Federal Financials (iTRAK) and the Enterprise Information System (EIS) by researching and correcting variance problems.
  • Assembles financial projection and planning data by collecting, summarizing, and consolidating data using Microsoft SQL.
  • Implements financial projection planning and control processes by following time schedules; monitoring deadlines; adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Assembles and interprets iTRAK and EIS data by analyzing and interpreting data; making comparative analyses to previous fiscal years.
  • Provides planning and control information by assembling and analyzing historical financial data; identifying trends; providing forecasts; explaining processes and techniques; recommending actions.
  • Presents financial projections by explaining data and assumptions for current and future year budgets.
  • Prepares special reports and completes special projects by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintains historical records by entering and verifying data; maintaining and backing up financial reports.
  • Protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Assists with the development and execution of standardized and repeatable budget formulation processes by collecting and consolidating information from various inputs for ranking and prioritization.
  • Develop formulation tools to provide monitoring and control of expenditures, forecasting for anticipated budget needs, and projects proper allocation of funds on a quarterly and annual basis.
