At Balfour Beatty Construction in Dallas, Texas, we are seeking a Hyperion Business Analyst. This role will provide functional support to Hyperion PBCS Financial Close and Planning system. Customer service and relationship management are critical to success in this position.

Essential Functions

The successful candidate demonstrates a commitment to add value to our business by providing timely and accurate reporting and analyses key to management decisions. The Hyperion Business Analyst has the following responsibilities in their role:

  • Provide PBCS system user support to 6 divisional finance teams, corporate users, and 1 sister company.
  • Perform PBCS corporate monthly close cycle duties following division earnings lock in a timely manner.
  • Verifying and pushing automated journal entries from PBCS calculated accounts to the general ledger (JDE)
  • Post PBCS Journals.
  • Lock/unlock users from the system as needed.
  • Run data loads from the general ledger (JDE) to PBCS as needed.
  • Perform system metadata updates as required for business needs.
  • Execute PBCS business rules as needed by the business.
  • Responsible for loading and mapping between PBCS and parent company HFM consolidation system.
  • Running checks and balances and rolling the actual period forward each month.
  • Support yearly PBCS data loads and mappings for separate GAAP statements.
  • Perform PBCS support during Projection close cycle.
  • Run process to seed actual data into projection scenarios.
  • Open and close PBCS projection scenarios to users.
  • Perform system metadata updates as required for business needs.
  • Provide user support and help troubleshoot data integrity issues.
  • Execute PBCS business rules as needed by the business.
  • The ability to troubleshoot issues quickly in PBCS and parent company HFM consolidation system.
  • Strong accounting and finance background and understand how core financial statements operate including income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, and backlog.
  • Run routine metadata updates in PBCS, both through automated and manual processes, as needed for both actual and projection reporting.
  • Familiar with ERP systems and working with an ERP administrator.
  • Strong Excel skills - vlookup, pivot tables, ect.
  • Supports interim and year-end external audits.
  • Perform miscellaneous financial reporting duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, IT or related field with 2 or more years of functional Hyperion administration and 3 or more years working with a large finance team.
  • Strong analytical skills demonstrating the ability to identify unique or unusual trends and drive issues through to resolution.
  • Demonstrates proficiency using personal computer (PC) and company communication tools, such as email, internet, accounting applications and Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook).

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience in the Construction industry or CPA experience is a plus.
  • SQL experience a plus.
  • Strong communication skills including ability to clearly and concisely obtain and relay information both verbally and in writing.
  • Self-motivating, high energy, confident personality that can interact with all levels including senior management.
  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic with a Will Do attitude to meet tight deadlines particularly around month-end close.
