Job Description

Wacom is seeking an IT Business Analyst to enhance the alignment between business processes and information technology. The IT Business Analyst will help plan, organize, schedule and implement business improvements as well as technology improvement projects in accordance with Wacom's business needs and project management methodology. This role will utilize the knowledge and experience to establish system requirements, feature requirements and functional requirements. The IT Business Analyst will be the liaison between the business and the development team.

As an IT Business Analyst, you must be an effective and organized leader with outstanding technical, analytical and problem-solving skills. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills as well as the ability to build solid working relationships with staff, management and outside vendors.

KEY REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • A comprehensive understanding the role of the business analyst in the software development methodologies and frameworks (Waterfall, Agile, Scrum). Scrum Master duties based on experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. The ability to interact professionally with a diverse group (executives, managers, and subject matter experts) in a global business environment
  • Facilitate requirements elicitation using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, task and workflow analysis to achieve the stated business objective
  • A thorough understanding of how to interpret and translate business needs into clear and detailed Business Requirements (Use Cases, Functional Specifications or workflows) and break them down into development tasks
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for the business unit to provide technical competency, documentation and training to apply and leverage application functionality
  • Ability to work in dynamic environment with minimum oversight
  • Support projects throughout the solution development life cycle, from establishing vision and scope to validating requirements in the testing phase. Projects include unit testing, user acceptance testing, system integration testing, project close out, etc
  • Communicate day-to-day decisions, priorities and relevant project information to appropriate levels of staff
  • Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to establish a product vision and analyze the tradeoffs between goals and technical system constraints
  • Assist product/project manager with development, update and tracking of project management processes and deliverables (e.g., detailed task lists, project schedule, issue logs, financials, status reporting, ongoing monitoring and reporting)
  • Participate and provide inputs into project / resource estimating activities
  • Participate in and support cross technology process improvement initiatives
  • In addition to new projects, this Business Analyst will also spend about 30% of their time helping manage and solve user issues and enhancements to existing technologies.
  • QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required, preferably with focus in information systems and technology
  • At least three to five years of experience in business analysis, requirements management and the software development lifecycle. Scrum Master experience is a plus.
  • Experience with customer facing web projects required. Experience with an ecommerce platform (like Sitecore) or ERP system (like SAP) is preferred.
  • Possess knowledge and experience leveraging both IT solutions and business process improvements. Must understand technical problems in relation to the current and future business environment
  • Demonstrated experience in assessing escalation criteria and successful timing of issue escalation
  • Understands systems process analysis, design and simulation
  • Knowledge of SDLC practices and quality assurance techniques
  • In-depth working knowledge of software including: MS Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point) | Visio | Atlassian: JIRA, Confluence, and Zephyr
  • Display sound judgment, strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; Excellent listening, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
  • Demonstrated leadership ability in influencing people
  • Experience working in global business environment within a matrixed organizational environment, rapidly adapt and respond to changes in environment and priorities
  • Availability to work flexible hours as needed and to travel occasionally
  • OTHER

  • Occasional global travel required – 1-2 weeks per year expected.
