About the Position

United Vein Center is looking for an ambitious Junior Accountant who can support the Company’s daily accounting functions and financial reporting efforts. The ideal candidate must be able to meet deadlines, manage multiple tasks, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. This candidate will report directly to the CFO and accounting manager and will have the opportunity to work with the Company’s executive leadership.

United Vein Center is a fast-growing healthcare company headquartered in Tampa, Florida, and currently has 10 clinical offices in Florida and Colorado. The management team consists of individuals with diverse healthcare backgrounds and a common goal to put processes and efficiencies in place through the use of technology, in order to provide a platform for the Company to continue its fast-paced growth.

Responsibilities

  • Post and process journal entries into correct classifications between corporate and individual clinic P&L and balance sheets in alignment with Company best practices
  • Record and reconcile revenue between billing system and monthly bank statements
  • Assist in bi-weekly employee payroll journal entries; including deductions for payroll tax, benefits, and employee expense reimbursements
  • Assist Purchasing department - from an accounting standpoint - to prepare purchase orders and update accounts payable for bills received and bills paid
  • Control and analyze inventory across the entire organization, and assist Company in the implementation of Boxstorm or similar software
  • Assist in the posting and classification of journal entries related to capital and operating leases of building and equipment
  • Record and classify operating expenses to the general ledger, assigning invoices, vouchers, expense reports, check requests, etc. in Expensify to QuickBooks
  • Assist in bank and cash reconciliations
  • Assist in the preparation of month-end and year-end closings
  • Update financial and operational databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed
  • Assist Chief Financial Officer on other special projects
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance
  • At least 2-3 years of accounting experience – Ideally in a healthcare setting
  • Proven experience in accounting and bookkeeping
  • Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
  • Proficiency and expertise in QuickBooks, Expensify, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Ability to think and work independently, and meet regular deadlines in a fast paced, high growth environment
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Aptitude for multi-tasking and “putting out fires”
  • Sense of humor
  • Ability to work well with, lead, and influence others in a fast-paced environment
