Part-timeHondros College of Nursing is hiring a Lab Manager for the Independence Campus! Position Summary: The Laboratory Manager is responsible for on-campus labs for the practical and registered nursing programs. This individual manages developing safety processes and procedures for the lab environment, as well as lab set up and clean up to ensure the lab is fully equipped and manikins are in working order to provide a safe lab experience for students and faculty. The Laboratory Manager assists instructors with on-campus lab activities, including evaluating students during skills check-off, creating modules for use with the manikins or related activities, and providing lab instruction/activities for the clinical day in absence of the instructor. The Lab Manager researches and evaluates vendors and supply costs, and recommends the best pricing. On a daily basis responsibilities also include properly maintaining labels, records, and the inventory of lab equipment and supplies. The Lab Manager provides troubleshooting support for daily problems, such as failure of software, hardware, and manikin dysfunction along with any other challenges encountered in the lab setting. Job Requirements:The following job requirements represent minimum levels of education, experience and competencies/abilities needed to perform this job successfully: 1. Education: MSN degree from an approved nursing education program; current active, unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse in Ohio required 2. Experience: Experience of at least two years full-time in the practice of nursing as a registered nurse or part-time equivalent; Previous Lab/Simulation experience preferred 3. Other: Incumbent must possess an active and unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Ohio, as well as a current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification (BCLS) compliant with the American Heart Association.
