Come join our team and become part of something big, by making our patients and customers the highest priority.##Job Description**POSITION SUMMARY:**Under the general supervision of the Lab Systems Project Manager, the Lab Systems Specialist validates (QA) test results to clients, collaborates highly with the manager to work on testing and documentation as well as performs all department procedures in a prompt, accurate, and reliable manner according to established company and departmental policies and procedures.**_PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES:_**Duties may include but are not necessarily limited to the following:* Act as a technical liaison between the laboratory and Information Technology department* Work with other members of the Laboratory Development group to address laboratory issues, and will be considered a subject matter expert for LIS software utilized by the laboratory.* Analysis of laboratory processes and procedures,* Train users on IT systems, review SOPs of validated tests, etc.* Test Set up, Testing and Maintenance in Lab Information System.* Acquire and evaluate data for LIS system (ie. reference ranges, linearities, comments) from the laboratory supervisors, package inserts and other pertinent sources.* Maintain new and existing test reference data* Test of the Interface and Rules -- this includes collecting specimens for testing linearity, repeat values, auto verification.* Create test cases to QA test set up, interfacing and workflow.* Ensure all testing passes across all systems, including verification of printed reports, HL7 messages to EMRs and appropriate billing.* Produce documentation for signature approval.* Combine all paperwork in a binder for review and sign off prior to implementation.* Support LIS upgrades, developments and maintenance* Perform QA / UAT testing of new and existing system features prior to and after installation to ensure accuracy of deployment.* With the guidance of the Lab Systems Project Manager, will help address any production issues across all systems as needed.* Other duties as assigned**_EDUCATION:_*** Associate degree in Medical Technology, or Life Sciences is required* BS degree is preferred**_EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:_*** 5 years' experience in medical laboratory is preferred or Medical Technology degree and 2 years experience in the lab* Proficiency in all Microsoft applications* Excellent verbal and written skills* Excellent project management skills, attention to detail, interpersonal and troubleshooting.* Excellent team player and self starter.BioReference Laboratories is an Equal Opportunity Employer*Req Number:* BRL-20-7072*Location:* ELMWOOD PARK , NJ 07407
