Job Description

Title: Logistics Coordinator

Reports To: Business Manager

Summary: Job duties include but are not limited to coordinating import shipments from suppliers to distribution centers, review import container booking request/routings; coordinate with inventory control to confirm routing destination or required changes; confirm import routings with global freight forwarder; track, trace, expedite inbound import vendor containers and/or air freight shipments to distribution centers.

Responsibilities include heavy communication with inside sales to make sure all freight forward logistical requirements are met.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop & maintain business relationship with freight and logistics companies operating on various trade lanes.
  • Lead weekly logistics status meetings to inform sales teams
  • Ship packages using various carriers (UPS, FEDEX and DHL)
  • Work with ocean carriers for bookings
  • Obtaining Ocean and Air Quotations including costs for Freight forwarding
  • Provide real time status on freight movements /track shipments
  • Gathering paperwork from suppliers
  • Plan and develop logistics program that increase efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Investigate and recommend optimal shipping options and coordinate with vendors.
  • Coordinate and communicate with external parties to ensure acquisition and delivery of shipments
  • Ensure shipping and compliance with state, federal, and international regulations
  • Coordinate the logistics of RMA’s (Return Material Authorization)
  • Track and monitor the credits and debits for RMA’s
  • Will be responsible for additional tasks as assigned by reporting manager.
  • Position Requirements:

  • Associate degree or equivalent Diploma required
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in logistics & customer service
  • Ability to succeed in fast paced environment
  • Able to work independently, sustain focus; & be goal oriented
  • Enthusiastic, highly motivated individual with healthy work ethic
  • Must be proficient in the use of MS Office SW Tools.
  • Knowledge in using ERP systems, such as SAGE X3
