We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for our Travis Body & Trailers, Inc. Division located in Houston, TX. The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for identifying areas of improvement within the production and quality departments.This role is responsibilities for continuous improvement throughout the facility. He/She will assist with identifying standards of performance, measure progress, set up and control workflow for optimum efficiency.

  • Ensure customer satisfaction with products and delivery time based on production scheduling and demand needs by applying proven methods such as LEAN, 5 s, KPI, Kaizen, etc.
  • Review schedules and production orders to make decisions concerning efficiency and best practices
  • Provide direction, development and leadership to production supervisors/leaders
  • Must have strong focus on employees and ensure their safety and well-being
  • Must have strong customer focus and make the best decisions for TravisI and our customers
  • Ability to manage change and maintain credibility with all production employees

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, Industrial, Manufacturing or Mechanical preferred.
  • 5+ years experience managing and/or leading in a production environment.
  • Broad knowledge and the ability to implement quality management systems such as ISO
  • Extensive knowledge and the ability to drive continuous improvement through lean manufacturing and/or lean six sigma techniques.
  • Must have the ability to create/develop budgets and work within them
  • Ability to coordinate plant activities and value stream flow with departmental supervisors/leaders
  • Experience managing 75+ production employees
  • Bi-Lingual a plus
