The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for product-related issues associated with sustaining engineering of current products.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for product-related issues associated with sustaining engineering of current products. Responsibilities include cost oversight, detailed data analysis of manufacturing efficiency, process development, change management leadership, and point of contact in interfacing with various contributing organizations, Contract Manufacturers, Vendors, Supply Chain, Management, R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, and Operations Engineering.
Leads or supports initiatives in all product manufacturing aspects: Cost reduction, quality improvement, Service/Repair, Process Improvement, Documentation.Develops sound understanding of product designs and focuses on ways to improve manufacturing processes as well as identify and implement cost reductions.Provides Design for Manufacturability guidance to R&D Engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.Gathers and analyzes manufacturing metrics and works closely with Quality organization to define appropriate process changes.Uses statistical techniques to compile and analyze data and realize appropriate improvement initiativesWorks closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality to coordinate product changesParticipates on cross-functional operations team in implementing RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) programs within the Company.
A Day in the Life
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.
Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.
Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.
Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques.
Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
Bachelors degree required
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 0 years of experience

EDUCATION:Required: Bachelor’s degree (preferred in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related field).Preferred: Master’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related field.
EXPERIENCE (Preferred):experience in engineering practice, including project management responsibility.manufacturing experience in PCBA or system manufacturing, other automated and manual assembly processes.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGEIn-depth knowledge and experience in DFM (Design for Manufacture) principles as they apply to manufacture of both systems and PCBAs.Competence in dealing with multiple organizations and disciplines, leading projects, directing meetings, making assignments, documenting and tracking action plans, and MS Project Schedules.
