Primary Responsibilities:

The manufacturing test engineer will be part of a small and dynamic engineering and manufacturing/production team. He/she will develop and sustain manufacturing tests and related equipment to support existing and new medical devices in production. Development of manufacturing tests will include electrical, acoustic, software and mechanical design of tests and related equipment. Activities will also include designing and implementing easy-to-use manufacturing test software and associated user interface for production assembly associates. This role will also be responsible for:

  • Writing manufacturing test procedures, and developing all documentation necessary to support quality management system requirements for manufacturing test
  • Collaborate with engineering in the process of designing medical devices for both ease of manufacture and test
  • Continuously improve manufacturing tests and related equipment to reduce cost and increase test coverage and quality
  • Control and maintain manufacturing test processes
  • Ability to coordinate manufacturing test efforts throughout the entire product development life cycle, from development to production
  • Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor s Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar is required
  • Experience with off the shelf test equipment including, pulsers, receivers, gain phase analyzers, function generators and oscilloscopes
  • Acoustic and impedance testing experience desired
  • Experience with test systems using motor alignment desired
  • Experience in developing scripts and user interfaces in Python or other test interface software
  • Ability to conduct hardware-software debugging and perform problem isolation down to the component level
  • Must have hands-on skills and experience with manufacturing processes, systems and tools
  • Proficiency with developing board level tests to ensure module specifications are met
  • Experience with DFx principles, electrical safety and EMC compliance standards
  • Experience working with regulatory compliance in medical, aerospace or military products
  • Experience with FDA and CE regulatory guidelines is preferred
  • Experience with CAD design software (SolidWorks) is desirable
  • Preferred Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with minimal direction.
  • Proven track record of having gone through at least 1 full product cycle with hands-on design for a test system.
