As a Mechanical Design Engineer at Sculptify, you will be responsible for the virtual maintenance of current generation components/assemblies using SolidWorks, as well as the conceptualization, design, sourcing, and implementation of new products. The applicant must be highly self motivated and willing to make mistakes (learn). This position requires relocation to Sculptify Headquarters, in Columbus, Ohio.
You will report directly to the leadership team, and work closely with the product development team, domestic and foreign suppliers, and assembly crew.
Create technical drawings and documentation for components and assemblies
Develop component, assembly, and system benchmarks, requirements, and specifications
Develop concepts and production design in Solidworks, and create physical prototypes as needed
Insure designs are compatible with high volume, high quality manufacturing/assembly processes
Interface with suppliers for manufacturing feasibility, validation, and sourcing
Maintain current CAD data, including making minor revisions of existing SolidWorks data
Reverse engineering and competitor breakdown with data logging
Education and Professional Experience
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME)
3 to 5 years of relevant experience strongly prefered
Ability to conceive efficient design solutions to complex engineering challenges
Ability to independently work and solve problems with little guidance
Experience with medium to high volume production
Proficiency in Solidworks and FEA tools
Understanding of mass manufacture design considerations and tooling
Knowledge of both professional and personal 3D printing systems
Familiarity with electrical interfaces, basic programming, robotics, and thermal mgmt systems
