Mechanical Engineer II

Join the Kurt J. Lesker Company (KJLC) in Enabling Technology for a Better World. We are seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking individual to join our Mechanical Engineering Team located at our corporate headquarters in Jefferson Hills, PA. KJLC is a growing global manufacturer and distributor of vacuum technology and we are looking for an individual who will continue to innovate with our Engineering team.

The Mechanical Engineer II will be responsible for the modification of designs and detail mechanical components, equipment, and machinery. They will apply knowledge of engineering principles to the design and detail of products such as vacuum chambers, sub-assemblies, and systems. This person will need to be familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. They will perform a variety of tasks. Creativity and latitude is expected while working under the direction of an experienced Engineer or Supervisor.

Key Job Elements:

  • Design and detail mechanical components used in the KJLC product lines while following the established procedures
  • Work to the budgets and timelines relative to project tasks
  • Create bills of material in the corporate ERP system
  • Interface with Sales and Product Management to understand project requirements
  • Interface with our internal machine shop to determine cost effective manufacture
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Qualifications:

    Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Strong 3D CAD experience
  • Working knowledge of GD&T skills
  • Preferred

  • Experience with Solid Edge or other mid-range modeling package
  • Experience with vacuum system design experience
