Performance Services (PSI) is an integrated design and delivery engineering company that specializes in constructing and renovating municipal, healthcare and education facilities. PSI is headquartered in Indianapolis, IN and has branches in nine states.

PSI is looking to add a Mechanical Design Engineer to our team in Chicago, IL. (Our offices are located in Lombard, IL to be exact.)

This individual will handle the mechanical design (HVAC, etc) for our Guaranteed Energy Savings & Design-Build Construction projects. They will work with our Business Development Managers & Project Development Engineers on developing system design concepts and the scope design & documents. Once the project is awarded, they will finalize the HVAC system design and prepare construction documents.

Our Mechanical Design Engineers usually are working on 5-7 projects at any given time, all in different stages. So this individual must be able to multitask.

PSI currently does most of the design work in AutoCAD but will be adding Revit by June of this year.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience designing traditional plan and specification projects in the HVAC industry.
  • Knowledge of HVAC equipment including chillers, boilers, air handling equipment, exhaust equipment, terminal equipment, etc.
  • Required Education:

  • BSME or BSEE from an accredited college or university is preferred.
  • Professional Engineer registration in states where projects are conducted is preferred.
  • This position has a pay range of $90K - $100K depending on skill set and experience. There is also a 7-10% bonus potential. As well as very strong medical benefits (PSI covers 100% of health insurance premiums).
