Job Description Qualifications:
The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Mid-Level Occupational Health and Safety Specialist to function in a Safety Administration and Engineering role in Seattle, WA.
This position will be supporting Enterprise Simulation & Systems Integration (ESSI) and other business units as needed.
Provide technical, regulatory expertise and information on Boeing policy and procedures in solving safety and health issues with an emphasis on electrical safety, 3rd Party inspections of new equipment, and non-ionizing radiation (antenna labs)
Participate on Design Practice teams to embed safety into their documents, directives, and Wiki pages
Participate in informal design reviews, preliminary design reviews (PDR), critical design reviews (CDR), and test readiness reviews (TRR) for Enterprise Simulation & Systems Integration (ESSI)
Review test safety plans and provide technical and regulatory expertise for operational safety during the test build, test conduct, test maintenance & repair, and test tear-down phases
The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree or higher
3+ years using Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations
3+ years identifying key issues and relationships relevant to achieving a long-range goal
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
3+ years manufacturing experience
Experience with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations for general industry operations
Experience speaking in front of others and giving presentations
Experience codifying regulatory requirements into written procedures or desk instructions
Experience working across multiple programs and locations
Experience with aircraft operations
Experience in industrial hygiene assessments
Experience with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience, 9 years' related work experience, etc.).
This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
