Multimedia Designer

Looking Glass Factory    Brooklyn, NY
Job Description
The Looking Glass is the world’s first desktop holographic display for 3D creators—no VR or AR headset required. It was launched the summer of 2018 to make the dream of the hologram real—and there are now thousands of Looking Glasses shining with the light of holographic glory on the desks of 3D creators around the world. Through the Looking Glass, our aim is to change the future to one in which groups of people are gathered around pieces of 3D digital space instead of living in a world in which everyone is forced into a VR or AR headset for 16 hours a day. Our customers include 3D artists, animators, architects, designers, game developers, medical professionals, technologists and straight-up 3D nerds. This is a full-time role based in Brooklyn, NY or Hong Kong. Why We Need You Delivering the magic of holographic display through the currently dominant 2D mediums (Twitter, Instagram, etc) is one of our biggest challenges. Happily, the Looking Glass tells a compelling story through the 2D web as you can see here [https://twitter.com/lkgglass], and we are looking to bring someone into the team who will help generate a growing body of compelling visual content. The ultimate goal of this role is to visually capture and share the evolving story of the Looking Glass, the dream of the hologram we are building with our community, and the wonderful holographic creations that are being made in Looking Glasses around the world. That’s where you come in! Here’s what you’ll be doing As the Video Editor / Graphic Designer at Looking Glass Factory you will be responsible for the delivery of creative work and content across social, web and offline platforms.
  • Create multimedia assets including videos, graphics, templates and layouts for use across social media, web, events, email campaigns, etc.
  • Edit videos; creating a high-output stream of video assets for social media and marketing campaigns.
  • Collaborate daily with teammates across the organization between Brooklyn and Hong Kong.
  • Leverage project briefs detailing project specifications as well as fielding ad-hoc design requests.
  • Create clear design templates and guiding concept briefs to expedite future creative processes.
  • Capture and share the dream of the hologram with the world.
  • You’ll need these qualifications
  • Your portfolio and the ability to work well with other talented folks are the two factors that matter most. Please send your portfolio and, if a match, we’d love to chat!
  • Here are some other things we care about for this position as well
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • BA in Graphic Design, Marketing or related degree, or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years experience in digital design and/or production
  • Expert knowledge of the Adobe Creative suite including Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
  • Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects experience
  • Adaptable, independent and quick learner.
  • Please apply within with your resume and a link to your portfolio. Successful candidates will be contacted by email for a short phone screening followed by an in-person meeting. We can’t wait to meet you!
