$12.87 - $22.39 Hourly

$26,764 - $46,562 Annually

This position is a Pay Band 55

Purpose of Position

Interviews are anticipated to be conducted within two weeks of closing date.

Why does the job exist?

Assists the Registrar in tracking collections, Integrated Pest Management, museum house keeping, photography, and driving.

How does it get done?

By perfoming the following:
1. Assist with monitoring incoming loans and exhibit loan returns.
2. Integrated Pest Management by tracking in exhibits, stores, storage and office space.
2. Cleaning of exhibit areas, collection storage, and staging.
3. Completes condition reports and condition photographs.
4. Data entry in the Past Perfect database within one week of arrival or within one week of departure.

Visitors, researchers, and patrimony of the people of the state.

Ideal Candidate

Bachelors degree in History, Museum Studies, Art History, Anthropology
4 years experience working in Museum collections, 3 dimensional or archives

Minimum Qualification

Associate s degree in Art History or other area of specialization such as Museum Studies, Museology, Conservation Science, Anthropology, or History and one (1) year supervised experience working with museum artifacts/collections. Substitutions Apply. See Substitution Table below.

  • Education and years of experience must be related to the purpose of the position.
  • If Minimum Qualification requires a specific number of semester hours in a field (e.g. 6 semester hours in Accounting), applicants MUST have those semester hours in order to meet the minimum qualifications. No substitutions apply for semester hours.

Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid driver s license. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment.

Working Conditions

Pest control, lifting up to 40 lbs., bending, standing, working at computer, climbing on step stool, ladders, and climbing stairs, working with glue gun, iron, camera, light meters, and sometimes working in dirty or dusty storage areas with limited climate control. Occasional travel.
