Nurse Practitioner/Physicians Assistant- Nephrology

Well established nephrology practice in south metro Atlanta seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.

*Candidate must have 1-3 years experience working in Nephrology as a NP or PA*

Duties include:

• Outpatient clinic 2-3 times per week, seeing 10-15 patients
• Round 3-4 dialysis clinics weekly
• Occasional inpatient hospital coverage
• Make referrals for therapies, treatments, and diagnostic tests
• Educate patients on diets appropriate for patients with Chronic Kidney Disease
• Screen patients to see if they have chronic or acute kidney diseases
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
• Treat chronic and acute health issues in an outpatient clinic setting with occasional inpatient hospital coverage
• Order and teach patients about medically prescribed diets and fluid restrictions
• Treat anemia and fluid imbalances
• Evaluate electrolyte and mineral statuses of patients
• Provide referrals to specialists
• Support patients who are waiting for or who have received kidney transplants
• Refer patients with end stage renal disease for appropriate dialysis modality
