Job Description

In its 30-year history, New Horizons Computer Learning Centers have delivered computer applications and a variety of certification training to more than 30 million students worldwide. Our New Horizons Computer Learning Center is operated by 5 Point Enterprises and serves individuals pursuing career development training as well as local companies expanding the skills and knowledge of their workforce.

The Cohort Instructor conducts and refines training programs for career changing students in an effort to gain associated job knowledge, attain vendor certifications (where applicable) and ultimately find gainful employment.

**PMP Certification is required; experience with Microsoft Project highly preferred in addition to being able to teach Business Soft-Skills to include: Time Management, Communication Skills, and Business Etiquette.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·Conduct training sessions covering specified areas, as scheduled or assigned

·Work with Training Manager and fellow Instructors to adjust delivery in order to improve test pass rates and prepare students to join the workforce

·Maintain and exceed all published course evaluation and other performance minimums

·Support sales efforts by contributing product and training expertise as needed

·Mentor other Instructors in areas of expertise as directed by Training Manager

·Develop teaching aids such as demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works as required to effectively teach curriculum

·Accurately report all class issues to Training Manager and provide potential solutions as requested

·Accurately document student attendance and progress in the Learning Management System

·Maintain accurate, up to date knowledge of specific topics taught and general IT industry trends

·Obtain and maintain all certifications required to teach assigned courses

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

·Previous training and product experience or one year related training experience, or related IT work experience preferred.

·Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in communications, education, social sciences, or computer science preferred.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

·Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

·Ability to learn technical information quickly

·Excellent presentation skills

·Strong work ethic and dependability

·Ability to deal effectively with a diverse group of people

·Ability to work well under pressure while meeting assigned deadlines

·Ability to consistently make intelligent, independent decisions under pressure while meeting assigned deadlines

·Good judgment, initiative, and analytical abilities while maintaining a positive attitude
