Job Description
Position Title: Project Engineer (Plastics)Reports to: Sr. Director, Sales DeliveryLocation: Greer, SCJob Summary:This position reports to the Senior Director of Sales Delivery and has two key areas of responsibility: 1) Work with Program Management and Engineering to execute programs at manufacturing on time, in budget, in scope, 2) Work with Operations to drive continuous improvement process (CIP) in manufacturing for injection molded and assembled products. Work environment includes complex injection molding tooling and automation for Medical Device and Consumer Products. Project Engineer will adhere to Program Management Guidelines. Job Duties:1. Drives achievement of agreed-to deliverables to internal and external customers by working closely with cross functional manufacturing and project teams to execute projects for packaging, automation, molding and assembly per customer and Company requirements and specifications.2. Supports Program Managers in creation of project plans, schedules, budgets, and task lists, per documented procedures, to execute projects and assure delivery, quality, and cost objectives are met; requires a functional understanding of – and adherence to - program management guidelines, processes and systems3. Takes the initiative to collaborate with plant operations, quality, and technical team members on continuous improvement initiatives, including DOE’s and other data driven processes to support decision-making.4. Supports Mold and Assembly Equipment Validations through successful completion (customer approval); Writes capital request and assures validation of equipment and processes where required5. Supports other technical activities or projects within the facility, as requested by the General Manager6. Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the Company and outside parties. (value chain). Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Program Management or related field.
  • Five years’ experience in design or mold processing for plastics injection molded parts, with skills to develop unique and novel design solutions.
  • Seven years’ experience in injection molding, project management and processes.
  • PMP Certification in program management; Proficiency in Program management tools required, such as Gannt charts, timelines, change control and budgets
  • Must be detail oriented, able to meet deadlines on complex projects and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional teamwork and communication skills, including the ability to get things done and meet commitments by working with and through others; requires being able to establish effective work relationships at all levels, internally and with customers/suppliers
  • Proficiency in use of medium to large scale Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Product Data Management (PDM), MS Office power user, especially Excel, PowerPoint & Microsoft Project.
  • Must be able to travel 25-50% of work time.
  • Ability to work overtime or occasionally on weekends with short notice.
