YOUR ROLE

As a QA Test Analyst on the Customer Solutions Team, you will be part of a team that is transforming our business. We strive to deliver high quality solutions to continuously improve Claim Operations, which is why we are looking for people with a strong attention to detail and focus on quality. In your role as a QA Test Analyst you will hold and facilitate test plan/case reviews with cross-functional team members, execute and evaluate manual or automated test cases and report test results. You will gain Genworth product and application knowledge as part of a team that is driving change and innovation within the company.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

You are responsible for supporting the planning, design and execution of system testing. You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively within the IT department and across the business to execute and validate test cases based upon system requirements.

Daily activities would include:

  • Review and translate Business Requirement Specifications and Technical Design Documents to build test strategy, test cases, and impact analysis
  • Define test objectives, plan test activities to meet objectives, and monitor and track progress to plan
  • Identify upstream and downstream dependencies
  • Prioritize and sequence test procedures and test cases, validating environments are set and tests are run
  • Assess test execution against defined objectives and summarize test results for stakeholders
  • Document test acceptance and apply learnings to improve future testing
  • Detect, isolate, and drive defect resolution prior to production release
  • Leverage test automation tools to build effective regression and functional testing scripts.
  • Facilitate and lead test strategy, test plan, and triage discussions and meetings.
  • Provide input into high level and bottoms up cost and timeline estimations
  • Actively collaborate with project resources, business partners, project managers, and other subject matter experts across different teams.
  • Contribute to the continual improvement of the testing development lifecycle processes.
  • YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

  • College Degree (BS/BA) and/or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 years of relevant QA technical experience
  • Strong understanding and experience with different SDLC methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, etc)
  • Familiarity or experience with working within an Agile Scrum team
  • Ability to think critically while interpreting business requirements and technical design documents for creating test requirements, test cases, and performing gap analysis
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to tailor communications to different audiences
  • Experience or ability to learn ALM for management of test requirements, test cases, defects, and reporting
  • Familiarity and experience with utilizing testing software like Selenium and Katalon
  • ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with Customer Service or Claims Operational processes
  • Experience in the insurance industry and familiarity with insurance products, such as Long-Term Care, Life, and Annuity
  • Knowledge of Pega or similar Business Process Management technology
  • Received or pursuing ISTQB (CTFL) certification
