The QA Test Engineer (ETL, DW, BI) will Test Informatica PowerCenter ETL process, Cognos Reporting, and Tableau Analytics, on SQL Server Data Warehouse, ODS, and cubes. Build QA Test Plans, test cases, test scripts, and QA Automation to test an enterprise ETL, DW, BI, Reporting, Analytics platform.

  • Test Informatica PowerCenter 10 ETL mappings, transformations, loads, data pipelines.
  • Test SQL Server Datawarehouse, cubes, and marts. Oracle PL/SQL source data.
  • Test Cognos BI Reporting
  • Test Tableau Analytics – dashboards
  • Responsibilities:

  • Test ETL (Informatica PowerCenter), DW (SQL Server), BI Reporting (Cognos), and Tableau Analytics.
  • Test plans, test cases, test scripts for testing Data Warehouse / ETL / BI platforms
  • Test Informatica PowerCenter 10 ETL mappings, transformations, mapplets, and data pipelines.
  • Test Source to Target mappings, Data Quality, data completeness, and data integration testing.
  • Testing Cognos BI Reporting and Tableau Dashboards
  • Test SQL Server Datawarehouse, ODS, Data marts, cubes, and data models – Data Quality, data completeness, data integrity – end to end.
  • QA Test Planning, test strategy, test cases, test scripts, test automation, regression, UAT, QA reporting.
  • QA Test Reporting – Defect Tracking, burn down, regression tests, coverage, bug throughput.
  • Test Data Sets – Create test data sets for automated testing of ETL, DW, BI dashboards.
  • Test automation of ETL, DW, BI test cases, scripts, performance, and reporting.
  • Data Warehouse Testing; Star, snowflake, fact, dimension tables, Oracle, SQL Server
  • Database Testing – SQL Server, Oracle, T-SQL, PL/SQL, queries, joins, selects, stored procedures.
  • Test Reporting and progress to team (Test case burndowns), defect tracking, bug throughput.
  • Document test results, issues and risks – bugs, defect tracking, priority, severity, risks.
  • Read and comprehend requirements for testing purposes and able to track/analyze/resolve defects
  • Working with Visual Studio and TFS for Defect Management
  • Identify back-end defects (Errors in Informatica ETL mappings, mapplets, transformations, SQL queries, stored procedures, aggregation or enrichment joins, etc.) and being able to both recognize, document, report, and relay those back the development team. Then regression test to ensure resolution.
  • Qualifications / Requirements

  • 5+ yrs QA Test Engineering – Test Plans, Test Cases, Test Scripts, test results, Test metrics and reporting, test coverage, test estimation, test requirements, traceability matrix, end to end testing, test data sets.
  • 3+ yrs Testing ETL/DW/BI – Testing Informatica, Powercenter, ETL, mappings, transforms, Cognos reports, and Tableau BI Analytics. Background in Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence.
  • ETL, DB Backend Testing: ETL Informatica, Oracle, SQL Server, queries, joins, select statements.
  • QA lifecycle (Test requirements, Test Plan, test cases, Test Scripts, traceability matrices, bug reporting, test case tracking, regression testing, black / white box testing, Use case testing, Test stories, Test sprints),
  • QA Test Reporting: Defect Tracking, burn down, regression tests, coverage, bug throughput.
  • Test Automation / Test Tools: Selenium, MS Test Manager (MTM), Jira, Git, Visual Studio, TFS, MS Office
  • Strong AGILE QA software development life cycle (SDLC) – QA backlogs, sprints, standups, burn downs.
