Account Manager

Reporting to the Director of Sales, The Sales Representative focuses on building relationships with and providing exceptional customer service to retailers. This position focuses on driving sales for all brands in the portfolio through direct sales and regional market planning.

This is a high-visibility position requiring frequent engagement and regular communication with collective owners, buyers, staff, influencers and patients. Knowledge of the Brands portfolio and ability to explain the features and benefits of each product line, especially as compared to the competition, is essential.


This full-time position is responsible for retail accounts in and around Durango & Colorado with occasional overnight travel within the state of CO. Reliable vehicle access is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish weekly and bi-weekly store visit cycles to all accounts within assigned region.
  • Identify top targets by quarter and win business.
  • Develop relationships with Collective Owners, Buyers, Budtenders and Managers
  • Identify educational opportunities, conduct Budtender trainings when possible and appropriate, and make appointments for follow up with training events for all Brands
  • Develop and maintain storefront and delivery-only accounts via in-person weekly meetings. Supplement communication via email and social channels.
  • Researches and understands state and local regulations in assigned territory to help ensure compliance in packaging, marketing, distribution, etc.
  • Plans and executes in-store product demos, “pop-ups, and allocates marketing and promotional materials to strengthen brand visibility.
  • Updates and maintains client account status, sales history, action items, and contact info in CRM system.
  • Develop by quarter plan for each collective’s growth and by brand including demo forecasting, marketing and merchandising.
  • Territory Planning

  • Planning is essential to the success of the role. The Sales Representative plans out quarterly sales goals for each account and the overall territory, this includes promotional planning for each brand.
  • Once the AM has developed the ideal route cycle and territory targets, the SM creates a monthly and weekly goal broken out by assigned quota and new account targets.
  • The AM is responsible for reporting progress against goals daily and weekly.
  • Occasional weekend shifts are expected as events in the region arise.
  • Merchandising/Promotions

  • Ensure products are 100% in stock at the collective level, check expiration dates on every visit, rotate stock and ensure accounts maintain inventory pars.
  • Secure prominent, eye-level shelf placement in each product category at each account.
  • Identify cross-merchandising opportunities throughout the collective and work with buyers, and collective leadership to implement additional placement throughout the collective.
  • Place POS materials at collectives and secure menu placement for each product.
  • Builds and sustains positive relationships and strategic partnerships with key decision-makers at current and potential accounts.
  • Demo/Pop-Up Coordination

  • Schedule demos at Account locations based on demand and quarterly account planning.
  • Submitting event reporting immediately after each demo event.
  • Ensure demos being done at the right shops, on the right days, at the right time of day.
  • Perform demos and/or in-store consumer samplings yourself on a regular basis.
