Team Overview:
The Technical Business Analysis (TBA) team provides in-depth technical analysis and technical deliverables working collaboratively with Northwell business and technical teams and vendors. The primary technical deliverable produced is the Technical Design Document which is used for development, testing, support, and reference. The members of the TBA team serve in a liaison role between technical and non-technical partners and present complex material in a clear and understandable manner. Delivered technology solutions meet customer needs, expected delivery dates, and exceptional quality standards.
Position Overview:
The primary purpose of this role is responsibility for creating the business and/or functional requirements necessary for technology solutions that meet customer needs, expected delivery dates, and exceptional quality standards.
Remote candidates will be considered. Will be required to travel to NY office on occasion.


  • Work in a large Health System supporting the IT Revenue Cycle Applications Team
  • Follow SDLC process, scope out project; gather business requirements; produce highly-detailed technical and functional design document; and other project related artifacts.
  • Manage technical requests and produce analysis and design documentation for updates/enhancements to existing applications
  • Elicit Requirements by deterring Functional and Non-Functional requirements; utilizing appropriate modeling techniques and existing templates for documentation;
  • Verify solution meets requirements by implanting and managing changes to achieve project outputs; conducting comprehensive requirements review and verifying solution meets requirements; reviewing test cases
  • Act as a liaison between client and technical solutions/support groups, using advanced communication skills to elicit, document, analyze and validate client requirements.
  • Ability to present complex or technical material in an understandable manner to a variety of audience.
  • Collaborate with application developers, application support, architects, and other functional business analysts to gather requirements and organize them into development/enhancement phases.
  • In conjunction with IT application teams, improves systems by studying current practices and designing modifications and continue to drive efficiencies and process improvement
  • Recommends operational and system controls by identifying problems and writing improved procedures.
  • Identify, communicate and resolve issues and risks as they arise anywhere in the end to end process.
  • In conjunction with IT application teams, maintains system protocols by writing and updating procedures.
  • In conjunction with IT application teams, writes and maintains user documentation; help desk knowledge base articles and assets; and internal IT support documentation
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.

  • Document issues with resolutions and share with team members to improve team productivity.
  • Provide data to generate team performance metrics.
  • Knowledge transfer with other team members to improve overall team education level
  • Take complete ownership for the assigned task and timely inform the progress of the project / task to all stakeholders.
  • Adherence to the defined standards.
  • Take initiative and drives to bring to logical conclusion; proactive approach.
  • Provide accurate and timely information and escalates when there are issues.
  • Actively participate in meetings and make valuable contribution.


Academic and Professional Qualifications:
  • BA or BS degree preferred and/or other relevant combination of training and experience.

  • 2-5years industry experience preferred
  • 5-10 years practical experience in providing business process and functional support for assigned product preferred
  • Seven to ten years of combined programming and business analyst experience
  • Direct experience writing technical design, business requirement, and analysis documents is must
  • Experience working within collaborative environments supporting Application Managers, Developers, and Quality Assurance Engineers throughout the product/project development lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated experience prioritizing competing demands from stakeholders with the ability to resolve conflicts
  • Keen attention to detail, a passion for quality, a love for collaboration, a desire to always improve, and a problem-solving mind-set
  • Healthcare background specializing in Hospital Revenue Cycle Operations and Systems is plus
  • Strong problem solving, interpersonal skills and analytical skills
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills
  • Proven track record handling multiple assignments
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding client environment
  • Must have Relational Database knowledge
  • Must have strong Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, MS Word and MS Access knowledge
  • Understanding of Database and Application architecture
  • Business Process Design
Travel Requirements:
  • May require local travel
  • May require other travel for business needs

Working Arrangements:
  • May require after hours on call support
  • Work is performed in a standard office environment with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards
