Sr Lead Business Systems Analyst will lead and facilitate business meetings, functional, business, and BI reporting requirements meetings, use case walk through, and UAT. Facilitate requirements gathering meetings with banking and financial application owner, SME’s, and power users. Dive into use case walk through on banking, loan accounting, lease accounting, financial applications, AP, AR, GL. Discuss financial workflows – month end close, year end close, interest reporting, tax reporting, account balances, accruals, amortization. You know the difference between a loan and a lease, GAAP principles and processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Document business requirements, functional requirements, and BI reporting and dash boarding requirements and functional specifications. Teach business customer what can be done with native application out of the box functionality vs. what would need to be a custom engineered function or Business Intelligence reporting capability.
  • Gap Analysis and documentation of new use cases, functionality, and BI/Dashboarding requirements.
  • Rapidly learn Loan and Lease Accounting native functionality and capabilities. Review legacy systems functionality, terminology, data structures and schemes.
  • Sample data structures, data sampling from legacy systems and data sources. data mapping / source to target mapping from legacy systems to new application data, schema, fields.
  • Translate into Technical specifications, data flow documents, source to target mappings, data definition documents.
  • Experience with data mapping, conversion issues, report writing, application problem resolution, creating detailed system requirements, providing user training, facilitating system testing, and system administration.
  • Meet with Technical Data Warehouse, ETL, BI specialists to walk through the data migration from Oracle to SQL Server, leveraging Informatica for ETL processes, Cognos cubes/marts, reports, and Tableau dashboards.
  • Translate the business requirements, customer use cases, accounting process flows, and calculations into detailed Technical requirements, workflows, process diagrams, and use cases. Pull Data samples in SQL (inner/outer joins, select statements, queries) from Oracle, SQL Server, Cognos, Tableau.
  • Analyze / pivot data in Excel to understand lease accounting customers, types, volumes, scenarios, use cases.
  • Focus on Data Quality and customer account and statement accuracy throughout migration process.
  • Plan out migration of customer accounts, data, and use cases, in sprints and major milestones.
  • Serve as Liaison between Business Stakeholders Lease Accounting SME Users, Customer SME users, and development teams (Oracle, SQL, Informatica ETL, Cognos, Tableau), QA test teams, and vendor.
  • Drive customer account and data migration from legacy to new Lease Accounting platform.

Requirements:

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in banking or financial services industry, or appropriate combination of education and experience (Banking, Mortgage, Finance, etc.).
  • 3+ years BA and/or related technical experience.
  • 3+ years data analysis and Microsoft Excel experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of loan and/or lease financial servicing and systems, ideally LeaseWave and/or InfoLease.
  • 5+ years BA and/or related technical experience.
  • Basic SQL experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of management information systems, personal computer and software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, databases, queries, and reports.
  • Advanced experience with impact analysis, requirements gathering, testing, and project management.
  • Business analysis or project management certification.
  • Advanced analytical, organizational, business writing, and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and accounting procedures.
  • Knowledge of loan/lease documentation, terms, and terminology.
  • Knowledge of databases, queries, and reports.
  • Ability to perform assigned duties, which may require work variance from normal bank hours to meet user need and project deadlines.
