Sr. Informatica ETL Developer will support an enterprise upgrade project across all tools – ETL, DW, BI. Stand up existing Informatica ETL mappings / loads in Dev and QA environments on latest versions of Informatica PowerCenter 10, Oracle, SQL Server, Windows Server, Cognos, and Tableau. Work with Analyst, power users, and QA to identify issues in upgraded environment. Conduct ETL Informatica troubleshooting, root cause analysis to isolate ETL areas that need improvement. Design, Develop, performance tune, and optimize Informatica PowerCenter 10 ETL solutions (mappings, transformations, loads, etc.). Engineer Informatica ETL solutions on SQL Server enterprise Data Warehouse as well as existing Oracle Data Warehouse. Troubleshoot and optimize Informatica ETL solutions from DW’s to Cognos cubes/ marts, and Tableau BI front ends. Document solutions with ETL runbooks, data models, source to target mappings, data flow diagrams, catalogs, DDLs, dictionaries.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • The ETL developer will be primarily working with Technical Analysts, Platform Architect, and other developers on a project upgrading the Informatica PowerCenter platform, SQL Server databases and reinstalling Informatica on the new Windows operating system.
  • Developer support in testing and changing existing flows, connections, etc., as part of upgrade project.
  • Perform data loads, troubleshooting failures, and resolving the issues that are identified as part of testing.
  • Participate in scrum ceremonies (daily stand ups, sprint planning, refinement, sprint review, sprint retros.)
  • Triage ETL Production issues and work on code fixes.
  • Identify performance bottlenecks session logs, thread statistics, deadlocks, temp tables, key constraints.
  • Balance Workflow Loads – establishing critical path, degree of parallelism.
  • Informatica Performance tuning, bottleneck identification, sessions, and performance counters.
  • Performance tune Informatica mappings, transformations (Joiner, Lookup, Aggregator, Source Qualifier).
  • Design data flows participate in design sessions, document designs, create data models, DDLs.
  • Extract, Transform & Load into relational model structures of transnational databases.
  • Performance improvement & tuning of Informatica mappings, SQL, T-SQL & PL/SQL scripts.
  • ETL Technical reviews, source data profiling, Data validation & end to end testing of ETL Objects.
  • Perform Unit Testing of ETL Programs and support QA on End-to-End testing.
  • Work with ETL ALM deployment team in the code migration across environments.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

  • Deep ETL Experience (Primarily Informatica PowerCenter 10+) in production support role, & development.
  • 3+ yrs Informatica PowerCenter (10x or 9.6.1) – 1+ yr PowerCenter 10
  • Deep Informatica PowerCenter experience in ETL design, development, testing, and performance tuning.
  • Experience in relational databases (e.g. Oracle and SQL Server)
  • Oracle and SQL Server Database experience – PL/SQL, T-SQL including complex SQL constructs, DDL’s.
  • Windows batch PowerShell scripting and/or UNIX shell scripting experience.
  • Source Code Control tools experience: Microsoft Team Foundation Server, GIT, VSS, PVCS.
  • Knowledge of automated job scheduling tools such as Control-M (plus) or Autosys and Unix.
  • Familiarity with one or more Business Intelligence reporting tools (e.g. Cognos) is a plus.
  • Strong AGILE life cycle (SDLC) – backlogs, sprints, standups, burn downs – Agile, SCRUM, SAFe.
