Staff Accountant - AP & Grant Accounting

Job Description

Lyndra Therapeutics is seeking to fill the position of Staff Accountant – AP & Grants. This role functions in a professional capacity within Lyndra and reports to the Finance Manager. The principal objective of the position is the efficient and effective management of key organizational accounting needs related to Lyndra. Specific areas of focus will include supporting each of the science teams, managing accounts payable, and maintaining responsibility for grant revenue audit requirements. Participation in ad-hoc projects may also be required. Additionally, the Staff Accountant will work on tasks including, but not limited to, purchasing, software implementation, and budgeting.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as a key point of contact for all new vendor relationships & account set up
  • Confirm remittance details and terms (credit applications) with all vendors
  • Manage Tax Exempt requests & documentation history
  • Manage all credit card orders and reconcile charges monthly
  • Monitor requisitions and purchase orders (daily)
  • Review and reimburse Expense Reports (weekly)
  • Manage the Accounts Payable cycle – invoices, approvals, & confirmation of payment
  • Perform vendor reconciliations as needed
  • Manage Project reports for all ongoing projects
  • Tag project expenses in Quickbooks
  • Support grant reporting – POs, Invoices, check payments
  • SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 2-3 years related work experience in the Accounting field.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong Excel skills required.
  • Possess strong analytical, technical, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with multiple departments simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and familiarity with internal controls over accounting and financial reporting.
  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Possesses strong ethics and acts with integrity.
  • Ability to produce accurate and timely work products when working under pressure.
  • Maintains confidentiality and exercises discretion with information, as appropriate.
  • Understanding and knowledge of government/sponsor regulations is preferred.
  • EDUCATION

    Bachelor’s degree Accounting or related field plus 2-4 years experience
