Description/Job Summary

HydroGeoLogic, Inc. HGL provides environmental engineering, remediation, and construction services, as well as Military Munitions Response Program support to the U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Department of Energy, and other federal and state government clients. Currently, HGL has a position open for a Staff Accountant.


Responsibilities of this position will include but may not be limited to the following:

  • Using Deltek Costpoint, prepare complex CPFF, T&M, FFP and milestone billing in accordance with contract terms and conditions
  • Review billing data from various sources to verify amounts and account numbers are accurate
  • Investigate and resolve issues found in the calculation of bills as needed
  • Interprets and explains bills to project managers and clients as necessary
  • Completes project closeout and rate variance invoice preparation
  • Maintains spreadsheets and completes reports as requested by managers
  • Update AR reports on a monthly basis
  • Monitor and inform supervisor of potential issues, such as funding or billing discrepancies, that may impact the billing process
  • Assist in DCAA audit by providing necessary documentation
  • Required Skills

    The following skills are required for the position:

  • Deltek accounting system
  • Microsoft Office - advanced Excel skills, experience with Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Familiarity with government invoicing systems (RMS, WAWF)
  • Required Experience

    For this position 4 - 8+ years of billing experience working in a US Government contracting environment is required.

    Required Education

    BS in Accounting, Finance or related field is strongly preferred. Will consider directly related work experience as a possible offset to a formal degree. HSD is required without exception.

    A pre-hire drug test is required. Some positions may require US Citizenship.
