The Manager of Station Operations will directly support the General Manager in overseeing all aspects of assembly, deployment, and maintenance of 600+ bike share stations across Chicago. The Manager of Station Operations will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Stations team and work with his/her peers to ensure the success of the system.The Station Manager will ensure we maintain the stations to comply with city provided Service Level Agreements, and they will also manage the performance of the Station Technicians, Assembly & Deployment and Station Maintenance staff.


Key Aspects of Position:

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee the day-to-day activities necessary to build, install, and maintain all stations.
  • Take full ownership of all aspects of the system’s station operations, including P&L responsibility for both the technician and maintenance teams to deliver against client Service Level Agreements and internal Metrics/KPIs
  • Able to design and implement new processes and build new teams to support special projects
  • Drive continuous improvement through structured, solution-oriented problem solving with the support of your team, other department heads and cross functional business partners.
  • Collaborate with operational leaders in other Chicago departments and our clients to incorporate and further develop standard methodologies.
  • Manage a yearly operational budget, including monthly reporting on profit and loss

  • Establish positive two-way communication with field staff, sourcing feedback and fresh ideas from staff and sharing initiative plans and objectives with the field operations team
  • Ensure productivity of the hourly staff; including daily metric tracking and accountability of time clock activity, PTO usage, etc.
  • Ensure that safety-related processes are in place and that all staff follow appropriate safety procedures when working on Stations.

About You

  • You are the unique blend of seasoned operator and a natural people leader with 5-7 years of Operational Leadership managing a diverse group of functions and departments
  • You have a college degree from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience
  • You thrive in a high-pressure, high-visibility, start-up environment. You are detail oriented, highly organized and have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • You are data-driven, and have experience interpreting and manipulating raw data with tools such as Domo and Excel. Able to turn analysis into action by designing solutions based on best practices, adapted for unique operating environments.
  • You are an excellent communicator, both written and verbal, and comfortable communicating with C-Suite leaders as well as hourly union employees.
  • You are an organized thinker, with the ability to self-direct and to adapt to changing deadlines
  • You are excited by change and enthusiastically adapt in the work environment; manage competing demands; deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office software.
  • You are able to lift up to 65 pounds; stoop, bend, and stand for long periods of time.

This position may require hours which exceed 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week.
