Job Description

The Structural Designer 1 will develop 3D design models and assist with laying out, detailing, and specifying structural systems. The Structural Designer 1 will be capable of coordinating primary building elements. Our ideal candidates will possess prior experience in the commercial/residential construction field. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a high level of organization and a strong attention to detail are essential. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manufacturer installation instructions, and ensure product is built to standards under tight time lines.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate and collaborate with project team and effectively communicate concept and ideas.
  • Coordinate with Structural Designer II at all phase’s projects.
  • Analyze the structural package to determine and plan the best approach to prepare shop drawings.
  • Think independently while working within a broader team
  • Preparation of construction documents for structural drawings and details
  • Familiar with basic elements of building modeling and construction practices.
  • Requirements:

  • Associate of Applied Science Degree with 1 years of work experience in related field required. Bachelor’s in Structural Engineering preferred
  • Experience with structural detailing, Preferred
  • 1+ years Revit drafting experience
  • Experience with AutoCAD
  • Experience with of Building Codes- IBC & CBC - Preferred
  • Structural Designer II Location: Boise, Idaho Salary Range: $25-$30/Hr.

    The Structural Designer II will be responsible for specific technical design aspects of an assigned projects, including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of structural design solutions. Our ideal candidates will possess prior experience in the commercial/residential construction field. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manufacturer installation instructions, and ensure product is built to standards under tight time lines.

    Responsibilities:

  • Apply engineering or architectural principles to the design of building and components or assemblies.
  • Prepares creative designs, related drawings, details to develop material estimates for projects.
  • Participate and collaborate with project team and effectively communicate concept and ideas.
  • Coordinate with Structural Engineers and Architects at all phase’s projects.
  • Assist in development and coordination of structural support scope.
  • Think independently while working within a broader team.
  • Preparation of construction documents for structural drawings and details.
  • Familiar with basic elements of building modeling and construction practices.
  • Requirements:

  • Bachelors in Structural Engineering preferred or 2+ related work experience.
  • Experience with structural detailing.
  • 2+ years Revit drafting experience
  • Experience with AutoCAD.
  • 1+ years of Building Codes- IBC, CBC, and legal regulations.

    Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, see, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and reach, stoop kneel.
  • Light to moderate lifting is required.
  • Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic).
  • Ability to work in shared space.
  • Other: Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis and must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
